SOUTHERN CHARM RECAP: Landon Surprises/Shep Sinks Lower

We see Thomas speaking to his bestie, the happily (it really does seem that way…I hope he’s not a cheater though) married father-of-four, JD about potential ladies T-Rav wants to wed. When the option of Landon comes up, JD says, “Of all the people in the universe, I don’t know if Kathryn would be real happy about that one.” JD really seems to get a kick out of all the unbelievable conundrums (to put it mildly) that Thomas gets himself into. I think JD loves Thomas and wants the best for him. But it also seems like JD is always entertained by these predicaments and JD wonders how Thomas can be surprised at the drama that surrounds him.

SC Landon thomas jennifer umbrella

(Landon, Thomas, and Jennifer…just friends? Step-mom Landon hmmm…)

Then we switch over to single, ripe-for-the-taking (if you can give Landon as many horses as she wants) Landon. She tells the camera that, “My Dad is a real estate developer. Everything he made is tangible, you can see it.” This is used to explain why he isn’t on board with Roam (new name please), and it’s lack of tangibility. The fact that the site can’t even claim its name definitely indicates that it’s likely to evaporate into thin air very quickly.

SC landon and ex husband

(Landon and her ex husband)

Landon’s sweet dad tells her, “As a matter of fact, I’ve got a proposal for you”. Daddy offers Landon a 5 days a week job overseeing one of his development sites in Charleston, since he can’t be there to oversee it himself.

Instead of gratitude, Landon says, “This is a lot. I didn’t think that you were going to hit me with all this”. While a positive spin would be to say that Landon’s dad believes in her and is trying to give her a break with this job because he knows she can do it, Landon’s own mind (and maybe weak work ethic) makes her interpret his offer in a hurtful, condescending way.

Landon is sad her dad won’t acknowledge her site as a legitimate thing. Um, duh Landon, maybe that’s because even the most minor amount of research to see if your site name was available clearly wasn’t done effectively, if at all. About Roam Landon says, “It’s the first thing that I’ve ever done on my own as an adult that is just mine.” Landon says, “I want to do it on my own”.

I am not a fan of Landon in general, but her desire to be an independent woman and not take the easy way out did impress me this episode. I’ve never seen her clearly express that she knows it would be kind of pathetic to just fall into whatever fate offers her easy money to maintain her lifestyle.

SC LANDON RED carpet

(One thing working for Landon is that she always looks good)

Landon knows it’d be easy to marry, but she says, “It’s kind of like giving up on myself. I’m betting on me”. I’m on TEAM LANDON then too in this instance!

Shep talks to Cameran about wanting to get married and the topic of Chelsea is brought up. “I think you’re scared of being vulnerable,” Cameran says to Shep and I agree wholeheartedly. Shep hasn’t worked enough and he feels like an unfulfilled loser because of it. I hate that work is necessary to feel good, but I’ve got to do something to feel ok about myself.

SC SHEP ROSE TALKING

(Shep seems to be full of shit)

Cameran says that if Shep tells Chelsea he wants to get to know her a little better, she would stop dating Austen. This whole episode made me start to wonder if Chelsea might be a real good actress, she has had me fooled or she is a really sweet person who also seems down to earth, because maybe she is using Austen as a tool to see if Shep really will go for her. I’m not saying I don’t think Chelsea doesn’t like Austen at all, I think there is a playful attraction there, but maybe in her gut Chelsea was hoping she’d be the one to change 37 year-old perma-child Shep Rose. I’ve done it myself and paid for it with my heart and sanity.

I think that men don’t change for you. Men can change, but it has to always start from somewhere inside I think, even if a change coincides with the meeting of a new potential dating partner. I don’t know if Shep’ll ever really be there, because to his detriment, money makes it so easy to not do anything.

“Is there any hope for Shepster?” Chelsea about Shep. The forecast is bleak on that one.

Austen and Chelsea. Asks her to meet his parents. Chelsea agrees. Either Chelsea is heartless, or Shep isn’t someone she’s secretly holding out for. It is NOT COOL to meet someone’s parents if you’re not in love with them. That’s just mean and misleading.

Austen and Chelsea are shown talking in a vehicle together. Chelsea says to Austen, “Shep did something really weird. And I’ve been torn if I should tell you or not. I feel like if roles were reversed I’d want you to tell me…he came to the back of the bar, he like grabbed my arm, and he was like I wanna talk to you…he immediately turns around and goes in to kiss me. He tried two or three times.”

“It is a cheap sly move,” is how Austen describes what Shep is said to have done.

SC jennifer landon austen cameran and chelsea

(Jennifer, Landon, Austen, Cameran and Chelsea)

Chelsea adds to how bad what Shep supposedly did by saying, “And you being inside the bar”.

“I just feel like that took some nerves,” is Chelsea’s final point (for now) on the topic. Chelsea also says Shep said everyone knows they have something special, and that Austen has a better connection with Landon. Landon is a flirt, and, no, I don’t think her and Austen have a connection.

Then there is a boys bar night. Before the Whitney and Shep arrive, Austen starts telling Craig about what Chelsea says happened.

Shep arrives at the drinking spot and Austen says, “I can’t believe he’s (Shep’s) able to act like nothing happened.”

SC austen shep

(Shep and Austen going at it)

Craig calls Shep out directly for his jealousy and of course Shep, the juvenile, denies the obvious. Austen brings up Chelsea’s story. Asks Shep if there is anything he wants to reveal. “Do you not think you were wrong in that?” Austen asks Shep. Shep claims he was doing it to protect Austen and to make sure Chelsea is genuinely into Austen. It was an act of kindness supposedly. Ridiculous.

“Craig, I am no lothario my friend,” Shep says in defense of these accusations.

Shep gets angry. “I gave you the chance to admit you’re doing somebody 500 times”. Oh, so Shep is still mad that Austen won’t open up about him and Chelsea. On this one area I’ll acknowledge Shep does have a point, because Austen hid his shit so Shep can kind of do that now too, but only to a degree, not to behave in a sexually aggressive manner like Chelsea described.

Shep points out Cameran keeps encouraging him to go after Chelsea. “Sometimes my maleness gets the better of me.” This is messed-up. Shep is kind of insinuating that his masculinity is so powerful that he couldn’t help but push way too far and grab Chelsea. That is the kind of thought process that has led people to justify sexual assaults, and therefore it repulses me. Shep then says, “Do you really think that I’d make someone go out with me? Maybe she likes me.”

SC CRAIG drinking wine

(Craig enjoys his chablis)

“Austen is really forcing this mirror in Shep’s face tonight,” is Craig accurately notes, and adds about Shep, “It’s really hard to look into that mirror and see someone you don’t like”. I think Craig loves Shep, but Shep was too critical of Craig, and I’d feel like Craig too, and a bit happy to see my friend judged after treating me poorly in the past. Immature? Yes. But I ain’t perfect.

Shep further acts a fool when we see a flashback where he says to Austen about Austen’s hook-up with Chelsea, “She went slumming with you. She wanted to see what a little blue collar was like”. Seriously Shep needs to stop drinking, because comments like that will always come out if you’re hammed.

Whitney keeps standing up for Shep, but this isn’t a shocker, as I think Whitney would stand-up for whomever he is closest to rather than even think about how is right or wrong in the situation. Blind loyalty is a little much for me.

The other friend at the bar (who isn’t a cast member) tells Shep what Austen said about him. Shep denies it. Austen says to Shep, “You have alluded to it a couple times. You said you don’t have enough money for her bro. Words out of your mouth”. Scott Disick from Keeping up with the Kardashians and Shep are kind of similar alcoholics in my opinion.

“You’re on very thin ice with me,” Shep says to Austen and he ends with the classic line,”You do you. I’ll do me. I don’t care I’ve got a million friends”.

You hear that, everybody? Shep is the most popular boy in school, I mean in life. Finally, “Let it go, man,” is what Whitney says to Austen. Shut up, Whitney, you’re an annoying bitch sometimes.

SC Thomas kathryn red hair early episode

(Thomas and Kathryn once upon a time…)

Thomas brings Kensie to the mommy-and-me modelling shoot with Kathryn. You can tell the parents are really trying, but they’re also tentative. Kensie looks really happy and they look like they have a future in modelling. At the end of the scene, Kensie doesn’t want to leave and keeps trying to get into her mother’s vehicle. It is sad as Kensie is crying a lot and eventually Thomas takes her and buckles her into her car seat. I definitely felt like I was contributing to traumatizing a child by watching that scene. Watching this unfold is too much and Kathryn goes inside and starts crying. Chelsea and the modelling agency woman comfort her. I want to see fun, snarky Kathryn and I hope her wit comes out as the season progresses. Right now, Kathryn’s scenes are too depressing.

SC kathryn saint kensie cute pic red

(l to r: Saint, Kathryn, and Kensie)

Chelsea and Cameran hang out. Chelsea tells Cameran Shep was trying to say it wasn’t his fault (his way too pushiness with Chelsea at the bar) because Cameran is always in his ear. Cameran admits that, “Maybe it is selfish of me because I love you both, and I want y’all to be together”.

“You see his lifestyle. As a friend, you shouldn’t want me to be…” Chelsea trails off. I’ll end the sentence myself “…with him”. Yep.

“He (Shep) gets away with it. I know so many guys like that…at some point, that can’t happen anymore” Chelsea about guys like Shep. Dead on! School him, please. This scene made me believe Chelsea isn’t orchestrating, or playing a role in, the drama around her, and that she really sees Shep for the entitled playboy he chooses to be at the present time. Cameran decides she is going to go chew him out.

SC craig naomie white

(Craig and Naomie during happier times…big ups to them for doing relationship work with a counsellor…my partner and I have too and it helps I think)

The therapy session between Craig and Naomie reminded me of fights between my boyfriend and I! He works in our apartment making music a lot, if he didn’t spend so much time on music I don’t think I’d find him an attractive partner (he has music is on reality TV show that airs on MTV2, so he gets legit jobs composing), but the current record he is working on will not pay out until his friend and him complete it and send it in to Music BC.

He also works in a restaurant, but I’ve been doing 8 hour shifts away from home 3-4 days of the week, and when I wake up and he sleeps in with the blinds drawn while I’m up and outside, I can harp on him for it. Seeing how Naomie talks to Craig though it reminds me that even if my frustration is justified, putting your partner down will only further de-motivate them and it won’t help life them up. So what I took away from this episode is that I need to stop dumping on my boyfriend.

Shep and Cameran meet up. Cameran says, “Well I think we’re going to have to save the love doll for somebody else”. That doll is cool though. I want one!

“I saw a bright, shiny object like a fish,” is how Shep describes Chelsea and the temptation to go after her.

SC shep and cameran laughing together

(Shep and Cameran weren’t laughing during their final convo this week)

“Do you not think that there is any part of you that is jealous of him?” Cameran asks.

“Just admit that you care. Oh my god. I call bullshit,” Cameran calls Shep out and it is satisfying as a viewer to see the TRUTH spelled out for Shep loud and clear. Grow up, please.

Until next time…

OMG JTT is Still Super Hot!

So you 90s kids must have watched Home Improvement starring Tim Allen. I know I did. Ruh-ruh-ruh! The growling-bark that was “Tim the Tool Man Taylor” trademark joke on the show.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas played the character of Randy. And even though I was only around 10 when I started watching the show, I was definitely randy for JTT.

Those beautiful blue eyes, tan skin, and sweet smile! Who could resist? Certainly not I.

Anyways, I haven’t seen anything about JTT for a long time and then BHAM out of nowhere, I’m on popsugar.com and I stumble upon the above glorious pic of Jonathan.

He’s taking a break from the spotlight since he says he was working since 8 years old. Yes, please take a break then, but don’t stop being hot.

Taylor Swift and New Boyfriend Joe Alwyn: PICS TOGETHER!

DAILY MAIL LINK for more pics of T-Swift and her new boyfriend. All are poor quality though, but they’re something for you Tay-starved folks out there (and I know there’s lots of you). I’m a Tay fan too, but some of the stuff she does irritates the crap out of me.

Taylor Swift has finally decided she wants to be seen with her new boyfriend. They’re there, solid and ready to be out in full view.

And now…what?

This relationship already feels flat to me, because Joe Alwyn looks too sweet, too cute, and too innocent for Taylor Swift.

I have a feeling she’s going to need a little more excitement than what she’s getting with him, but there’s something there for the time being.

Taylor may simply be waiting on another.

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK CITY: Circus of Emotions/I Have Not Been a Good Friend to You

Right out of the gate, LuAnn and her impending wedding to Tom D’Agostino is the focus of the episode, with forays into other people’s issues and lives of course, but it all seemed to somehow circle straight back to the women’s belief that Luann is making a huge mistake in marrying Tom.

I can see that they are contributing to Luann’s decision TO marry Tom, since they’re shaming her and crapping on her, and Luann probably feels so attacked she will stick to her guns rather than be bullied out of what she wants (since the women have now reached a level that would feel like bullying). And it’s already know that Luann is married to Tom in real life.

F:PHOTOReady RoomActionsInsert Request46990#Patricia DashPress-001.jpg

(Tom and Luann)

Dorinda tells the camera, “I’m concerned i want to make sure she feels very comfortable about getting married”. This all sounds good, but enough is enough. Stop picking on Luann ladies, and just led her do her thing.

rhonyc dorinda bikini pic

(Dorinda Medley, 52, in Miami: lookin’ good)

Luann is in Dorinda’s living room at her home in the Berkshires and she says as a defense to the women’s critique of Tom’s female friends (and more?), “Jacques and I still text each other. I’m not going to change a 49 year-old man from who he was,” is what Luann says to shut the other women down.

This statement is interesting. I think it is very true. Luann is focusing on what is likely the truth here without denying that Tom hooks up with other women. All Luann does confirm is that she maintains a friendship with her ex and that you can’t change people. Avoidance. Yes. I see what you’re saying Luann. What if they did have an open relationship? Would people accept that? Nope. So I can see Luann’s frustration in that she can’t win either way.

rhonyc ramona singer crazy eyes

(Ramona Singer with those eyes…gotta love her)

Ramona pipes in, “He’s still kissing other women”. Ramona is so annoying because if anyone were to criticize Mario for his man-whoring ways (it was always obvious he was a player) Ramona would have lost it on people and been hyper-defensive about her marriage. As much as I love Ramona, this double standard makes her someone who I think that it would be hard to be friends with. Ramona is full of love, hilarious, and inspiring, but her intensity could be hard to take if I were her friend.

Luann throws out an argument that I don’t think stands up really when trying to prove someone isn’t a cheater. Luann says, “He’s with me all the time. 24/7” about her then-fiance Tom. Um. It’s actually impossible to be together all the time. But the fact that you hangout together 24/7, and you’re speaking in such a way that you want to prove you always have an eye on him, makes makes me wonder if Luann is insecure and so she wants to make sure she babysits Tom as much as possible, so he stops embarrassing her with the public hook-ups (if these hookups are actually happening…still speculative at this point).

The conversation ends with Luann saying, “I don’t have to explain myself.” That is true. I hate it when I feel backed against a wall and like I do have to explain myself. I don’t like spending time with people who make me feel that way.

“Sometimes you feel like the train has left the station, and you don’t know if you’re going to go through with it…” is what Bethenny says to Luann, trying to encourage her to get out before the wedding takes place.

“He has women friends. So?” LuAnn says to Bethenny in response.

Ramona then hits home about how he’s a repeat offender.

“I’m trying to protect her. Down the road this is going to happen again.” Ramona says.

She knows because of her relationship with Mario. Her ex-husband and big cheater. Apparently she caught Mario, the father of her 20-something daughter Avery, with another women at their home in the Hamptons. Ramona then gets overwhelmed and highly emotional while saying in typical Ramona-style, “It’s only going to get worse Luann, it’s nog going to get better”.

“Maybe there is something deeply hidden in there that it happened to me, so it’s going to happen to you.” Dorinda has this theory about Ramona’s response to Luann’s relationship. I think that Dorinda is dead-on!

Luann refuses to waver and states, “I wouldn’t walk down that aisle unless I was 100%. We are confident in who we are and we trust each other”.

rhonyc luann tom her son

(Tom, Luann, Luann’s son Noel, and I’m guessing his girlfriend)

“Tricked guy syndrome is the guy who’s not that cute, gets a little bit of money later and needs to prove to everybody that they can have sex” is what Bethenny says about Tom. That is probably the case. I’ve known a few men like that who constantly needs to pursue any woman who responds to them because of insecurity. It sucks immensely to be with men like that.

Dorinda talking to her housekeeper Len is kind of funny, because I think it shows Dorinda’s bossiness. I’d like to be her friend, but I wouldn’t want to work for Dorinda.

Bethenny: “Luann’s like the Trump of relationships…Tom making out in a bar with a woman…that’s like locker room stuff…” I think Bethenny means to Luann it’s no big deal.

Finally, some Tinsley. Tinsley says, “I can relate to Luann sometimes you just don’t want to listen in my situation. It took a great fall (getting arrested) to realize…” the error of her ways.

rhonyc tinsley bikini bday cake

(Tinsley)

Bethenny is using Tom’s dick for her stand-up routine this week:

  • “His dick shoots diamond out the ends” Bethenny about Tom
  • “Tom must have a 48 karat penis. If that thing can handle Luann, it must be good”.

Ramona says to Sonja about Ramona’s rift with Bethenny: “I have to realize who she is…I made a big mistake. It wasn’t out of maliciousness and I will tell her this at some point…I’m confused and I’m never confused. I need to figure out a way to tell her without her telling me I’m the apologizer”.

rhonyc ramona sonja hugging herve dresses

The focus throughout the episode remains on relationships. I like that and I think it’s interesting. Tinsley can’t date younger men anymore. “You really just have to go with your cut and your instinct and your heart”. This is Luann’s piece of advice to Tinsley.

“My instinct got me in the fucking toilet bowl,” Bethenny about her failed marriage. Dark.

“I am in a torture chamber…I’m in a very, very negative, torturous situation and I’m holding on by a thread. You’ll never know. Hopefully, you’ll never know” Bethenny to Luann. This is scary if Bethenny isn’t exaggerating. I know she’s in an excruciating amount of pain, but maybe not quite as much as a torture chamber.

Jason bryn bethenny

(Bethenny’s ex-husband Jason, her daughter Bryn, and Bethenny during happier times)

Luann is kind of saving the day here. Bethenny needs to stop publicly shitting on her daughter’s father. I don’t know what Jason Hoppy has done, but this sounds freaky. Either Bethenny is unfairly characterizing Jason in a negative manner, or if he is as cruel as she says he is, then I wonder if he has mental health problems. The torment Bethenny describes sounds like the work of someone who is not doing well mentally.

rhony bethenny luann fire

(Bethenny and Luann)

“I didn’t go through shit. I’m in shit,” Bethenny about her relationship with her ex-husband and the father of her daugher.

“I thought you were done,” Luann says seeming genuinely concerned.

“I’ll never be done,” Bethenny says back to Luann. Wow. “I’m in goddamn hell and it will not end and it will never end,” is what Bethenny adds.

Then Bethenny goes on to say, “I sometimes feel hopeless and I sometimes feel like my ex is untouchable and I’m not going to be able to get out of this”.

That is really sad. I love Bethenny, so I hope she gets better.

Luann is the bigger person and doesn’t prey on Bethenny, like Bethenny did to Luann a year ago when Bethenny even called Luann a slut.

Then the Bethenny breakdown starts. Bethenny starts begging Luann not to marry Tom.

“It’s sad. It makes me sad,” is what Ramona says about Bethenny’s sadness and ex drama. I don’t believe that Ramona is able to look past her current blockage with Bethenny to have true compassion for Bethenny.

“I’m not going to share myself with anyone. I don’t share myself with anybody. I’m not ok.” is another disturbing thing that Bethenny tells Luann and Luann comforts her.

As insane as reality TV is, I do think there is something beneficial and cathartic about openly depicting the level of sadness and depression Bethenny is going through.

At this point in the night, Bethenny hopes Ramona will steer clear. Yeah, right!

Rhonyc Ramona Bethenny tense

So begins the elephant in the room talk.

Ramona’s defensive face is the same as my Mom’s. When Bethenny complains about how judgmental Ramona looks, Ramona responds with, “Bethenny I’m very expressive. That’s who I am. I’m emotional”. That kind of response is exactly what my own crazy old Mom would do too. It’s hard to talk to someone who is as emotional as my mom or Ramona.

“You have not been a good friend to me,” says Bethenny to Ramona.

“Are you fucking kidding me, Bethenny? I HAVE NOT BEEN A GOOD FRIEND TO YOU…” Ramona looks like she’s been possessed by the devil at the end of this episode so I’ll definitely have to tune in next week (as always).

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE ABBEY: Heidi Montag, What, What?

As much as I wanted to not want to watch What Happens at the Abbey I caved tonight, and, as per usual, I am now getting more into the Show.

First there’s Daniel and Ashlee’s cooking session at Ashlee’s place. Daniel is my favourite character so far. He seems geeky and like he’s not as a fakeass as some others. It’s clear that Ashlee isn’t used to guys doing anything other than blushing and doing whatever she asks in her presence. I like that Daniel doesn’t just flatter her ego the whole time.

I want to see more DANIEL!

Ashlee eventually becomes infuriated with the date, and says, “Daniel is dumb as a brick.”

“You’re not very nice, are you?” Daniel says in response. Go boy! Yes, I am a lifelong awkward girl, so I always get some satisfaction when a beautiful girl gets shut down a bit.

“Me doing some charity work at this point” Ashlee is another description she uses for her date(?) with Daniel. I don’t think either of these people thought it was a date or have any chemistry.

Daniel’s strength with women I think is that he’s not intimidated by their beauty. It seems like he knows that lots of hot girls are arrogant, so he refuses to further hype-up beautiful ladies’ egos (based on the little CA-COW/CO-COH cooking session with Ashlee).

Billy knows what he’s good for and that’s taking that shirt off” Kyle about Billy while Billy takes his shirt off in front of Marissa’s Mom. I think her mom has good instincts and she can tell Kyle is a player. I get that feeling, too. I like that she let him sweat, because he is interested in her daughter, so it’s only right a mom should make a “suitor” sweat.

Ha! Marissa and her Mom were really cute. I like her mom alot! My Mom, my sister, Nat, and I were all total celeb stalkers during my childhood, so I totally relate to the storyline where Marissa gets embarrassed by her mom when they’re at The Abbey and reality tv dynasty Heidi Montag is there.

Aww, of course sweet Heidi tells Marissa to, “Follow your dreams”. Heidi might be cray-cray, but she’s sweet, too. So weird to see her out for a night without Spencer. Where’s he hiding?

“Heidi Montag is literally everything.” Marissa says about Heidi. Heidi is pretty awesome and a pioneer in the reality tv genre.

Lawrence then wants to tell his father that he is having a baby with Brandi: “We have to break the news to him that we are starting a family”.

“We HAVE to” says it all. Shouldn’t it be exciting to tell your family if they’re supportive?

Divorce. Lawrence parents forced the kids to choose when they got divorce. My sister and I were involved in an ugly custody battle (my sister had to testify in court against my Dad, but I didn’t testify, just wrote a letter the judge read) and it has had a permanent effect on me in that I still am recovering from emotional trauma inflicted during that time (I do think I’ve improved so much though). Lawrence says his parents were breaking up and at the airport going in two different directions. His parents told him and his brother to choose. He says his brother choose his father, then his brother grabbed Lawrence to come with him. Heartbreaking, and the saddest part of all, “I saw my Mom go in the opposite direction”. That’s a sad story. Custody battles are cruel towards the children first and foremost.

Lawrence tells his Dad, “We’re going to have a baby. You will be a grandfather.”

Brandi: “I’m also gay.”

His dad asks, “What if you decided that you go separate ways?”

Brandi then says, “I don’t feel like it would happen….I wouldn’t up and move somewhere else.”

I love what Lawrence dad says! His dad tells them, “This is like remarkable. Thank-you. You couldn’t have done anything more to honour me.” Lawrence’s Dad to Lawrence and Brandi. Everyone starts crying.

Whoa. I’m so pessimistic.

Brandi then says about Lawrence’s dad, “He (Lawrence) was finally able to get over a bridge that he feel like he burnt with his father” is what Brandi says about the pregnancy. To play devil’s advocate this repairing of a burnt bridge is kind of insane if Lawrence felt like he had to atone for being gay. If the only reason his father was disappointed he was gay is because he couldn’t have kids with another man then that’s ok. But if his dad truly hated Lawrence being gay and that is something Lawrence still puts on himself as a bridge he burnt and needed to repair, well then I think his dad should realize Lawrence has done nothing wrong or disappointing in being gay.

UPDATE: I tweeted my article to Lawrence and he read it.He tweeted in response to my tweet, “Thanks for the review! Just want it to be clear that my father has never been disappointed in me”. and “I was disappointed in myself for not having the courage to come out to him face2face, he found out from someone else”.

Glad we cleared that up! I was wrong and Lawrence’s dad never held Lawrence being gay against him. Lawrence’s dad is pretty cool!

SOUTHERN CHARM SAVANNAH: Issac Steals the Spotlight and ASHLEY’S MARRIAGE WHOA

On this episode of Southern Charm Savannah, Ashley tells her shockingly quiet husband Dennis, “I mentioned to her (the psychic) about us. She felt perhaps you and I weren’t soulmates. I don’t know if that’s real not real. Maybe I’m standing in your way of finding someone.”

It’s obvious Ashley is the one bored in this relationship who wants someone new. I’m not sure why she is deflecting and putting it on her husband Dennis, who seems into being the bitch in this weird relationship. It’s painful to watch Dennis. I hope Dennis gets his groove back eventually.

“I’m glad she made you feel better” is what Ashley’s husband Dennis says to her when she tells him what the psychic, was in their house to cleanse bad energy from the room that Ashley and Dennis’ hilarious son Isaac was in when his bed caught on fire.

Ashley admits to the camera that, “The lack of romance is really hard for me and it’s lonely”. I bet it would be if she’s celibate and not experiencing enough intimacy.

Dennis also says, “I’m also not going to take relationship advice from the psychic.”

Ashley later says to the camera, “I don’t think Dennis hears me and that breaks my heart.” Yeah, like it sucks for Dennis, but why stay married to someone who doesn’t want you, Dennis? Grow some balls. I know it’s not that easy though.

DUBAI! Ashley then says to the camera, “I want to talk and Dennis doesn’t talk. Dennis got remarried so we could all go to Dubai together. You can’t live in a household together without being married. We didn’t want to split up our family again.” That explains a lot more. I really, really appreciate Ashley’s honesty.

Finally, Ashley says, “It’s hard because I wish it were okay.” At least Ashley doesn’t pretend it is ok. But for the sake of Isaac, their adorable son, who I think is very aware of the unhappy situation his parents are in, and that is why he says the food is poison and was being silly but also bratty when in front of the cameras.

Issac made me laugh out loud! He’s cute, and I like how he challenges his parents by showing them he’s not going to take part in any sort of silly charade. A child shouldn’t see his father feel so low in a relationship. Dennis’ confidence seems non-existent, which is sad. Dennis, you’re an attractive guy.

SOUTHERN CHARM: Brought Tears To My Eyes For The Firt Time EVA!

I thought it was hilarious when Craig said to his cat, Gizmo, “That’s your version of popping bottles, right?”, as he feeds him some treats.

Craig is so good looking but also weirdly geeky. I’m a huge geek, so I like him so much because he seems quite the opposite of cool and smooth. Sweet guy!

Craig is really happy this episode because he finally graduates law school due to finishing his last writing requirement. When he is at dinner with Naomie and he tells her of this positive outcome, she says, “I feel like it’s a bigger weight off of my chest, than it is yours.” You could tell that this hurt Craig and it seemed like he was feeling like he can do nothing right in Naomie’s eyes.

Naomie then went on to say to Craig, “If I hadn’t seen a huge improvement, we probably wouldn’t still be dating”. Ouch! Craig looks disappointed during the dinner and the tension is so extreme. She totally shits on him, but I can see where she is coming from in doing that. Craig did seem like he was being lazy.

Then there’s Thomas and Landon’s date. Prior to the date when describing the possibility of a serious relationship with Thomas if she pursues it that, “I would probably have a ring pretty quickly and all the horses I ever wanted.” A girl can never have too many horses, can they? Landon has likeable things about her, but I do feel like she prioritizes money over someone who challenges her in pursuing this relationship with Thomas. I actually think Landon may be more intelligent than Thomas. I know that’s mean, but it’s kind of what I believe.

Child custody you have to prove that you can do it. As in you mean have a nanny there 24/7 even while filming scenes for the show. Oh yeah, it’s so hard on Thomas.

Landon tells Thomas on their date about how Whitney’s mom Patricia invited Landon over to suggest that “I should consider you as a suitor”.

Thomas Landon Southern Charm

(Landon and Thomas)

We would be perfect together if he was 20 years younger and didn’t have a baby mama

“Go fuck thyself!” is Thomas’ perspective on people who want to judge him.

“You two get it done…This little girl is your soulmate.” This is what is said when their dinner is interrupted by some random crazy drunk lady at the restaurant their date is at. Ok, well if some out-of-it woman tells you you’re soulmates, why question it?

“It’s Southern is what it is…” Shep about Cameran being polite to Kathryn.

You could tell Cameran kind of realized she totally did isolate Kathryn and treated her poorly, much worse than Thomas even though he’s 30 years older and should know SOOOO much better than Kathryn…double standards against women, because she teared up while telling Kathryn that her and Whitney are there to support her.

I hope they can have some fun scenes as the season goes on, rather than just making Kathryn that sober downer loser all the time. That kind of depiction is part of what makes it so hard to be sober, I think, but yet maybe it’s just a realistic depiction of how sober people are not able to easily be the life of parties. I haven’t drank alcohol for over 8 years, so I’m sensitive to this topic and interested in it.

Austen describes “Chelsea as very guarded”. “The girl’s been engaged twice. Every relationship she’s ever been in she’s getting screwed over by guys.” Austen about his sometime paramour, Chelsea. Is it over?

Shep Cameran Austen southern charm

(Shep, Cameran, who is currently pregnant IRL, and Austen)

Shep (Chelsea’s past hook-up. Seems like he still has a crush) shows up where Chelsea works to get her to cut his hair.

“Chelsea’s a grown girl.” Austen about Chelsea

“The kid playing in the sandbox that doesn’t want to play with a toy.”

Craig’s theory while on the green with Austen about Shep, “He’s actually deeply insecure. He’s jealous we’re able to have confidence to go out and take a chance on someone.”

Yeah, I like Shep, but I do think he is deeply insecure. He hasn’t proven himself to himself or anyone else, and there is no way around inaction. But you can use each day to do actions you haven’t done before, which leads to change. So Shep is very far from a lost cause if there even is such a thing.

Deidre Thomas’s nanny for his kids Saint and Kenzie is who I want to see interviewed! What is her life really like. If Thomas can’t even fake taking care of his own two kids for the cameras, then he probably needs her and another nanny to make sure his kids are covered with extra support 24/7.

I bet she gets paid alot (she better) and she deserves every penny since she’s the one raising his kids right now.

“If they pull it out. I ain’t coming.

Whitney

“My eggs are drying up..” is the wonderful line Landon uses as a starting off point for breaking up with her much younger, not serious boyfriend.

I just want someone who will walk the dog with me.” “and buy me as many horses as I want” (that’s the part Landon said in her head).

Kathryn “From that to where I am now is just the polar opposite.

Thomas’s best friend JD’s wife Elizabeth. Elizabeth brings Thomas’ letter to Kathryn.

HOT COUPLE ALERT: Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara More Than a Rumour

I’ve been reading things here and there online, as you may also have been doing, for the last couple of months which suggest that Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix were fucking and potentially super coupled-up on the down-low.

I guess they were because they finally stepped out as a couple at Cannes.

I think they’re both pretty hot! Crazy seeming too which always adds a flavour of excitement to the mix as in, “What’s going to happen with these two?”.

Rooney Mara Joaquin Phoenix same car Cannes

Rooney does appear pretty cold, but she won me over in her roles in Her, Carol, and especially Side Effects. Why didn’t people talk about Side Effects more when it came out? I like how Rooney perfectly embodied a female who is willing to manipulate the qualities about females that have typically been used to oppress women, such as the idea that we’re especially weak and vulnerable, and use it to her own advantage for evil means. I don’t want to give more away, because it will ruin the plot but check out Side Effects if you haven’t seen it. Channing Tatum, Catherine Zeta Jones, and Jude Law round out the cast. Side Effects is also film that takes a glaring look at the pharmaceutical industry. It examines how some mental health professionals take advantage of their power and operate as business people looking to profit from pharmaceutical companies rather than there to help their clients first and think about financial gain second.

Joaquin does do a good job of staying famous and still getting decent enough movies without ever letting the audience know too much about him. I’ve still never seen that documentary called I’m Still Here. I just tried again to find it on Pirate Bay today and there’s no downloads for it…too bad…I do really want to see it, even if it sucks just because of all the hype.

Phoenix made the doc with Casey Affleck (he has 2 kids, Indiana 12 and Atticus (oh wow, what a name) 8, with Phoenix’s sister Summer and they are now divorced), which I feel like is kind of an infamous film now since Affleck was accused of sexual harassment from other women who worked on the set of the documentary. According to IMDB the plot line of the documentary “Documenting Joaquin Phoenix’s transition from the acting world to a career as an aspiring rapper”. Hmm.

Joaquin Rooney cannes audience look

I first developed a big crush on Phoenix when I was a kid and I watched him as a 12 or 13 year-old in the film Parenthood. The film also has a young Keanu Reeves and Martha Plimpton. Anyways, Phoenix was really good and cute in the movie starring Steve Martin. I love him in The Master also, which co-starred Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. It’s supposed to be about L. Ron Hubbard (creator of Scientology if ya didn’t know). Of course, Walk the Line. They’re both actors that don’t seem to be desperately seeking constant attention from the public. That doesn’t mean their egos aren’t huge. I’m just saying because they don’t put it all out there, I am more curious about them, and what their personal lives are like.

Hope they’re having fun and I’m happy to look at pictures of the coupling Marix (it’s probably insulting to give them a couple name, but whatever) until they’re no more, unless of course they last forever.

BOBCAT KITTENS: Rescued From a Fire!

These little angels (BOBCAT KITTENS) were found underneath the steps of a house on fire in Calgary on Friday. The fire was put out, and the kittens are being rehabilitated at a wildlife preservation facility.

I totally think I would have thought they’re just extra cute, not wildlife animals, and want to keep them anyway, anyhow!

Adorable.

There Appear To Be Some Loopholes In Tragic Story: 2 Children Dead in Hot Car

In Parker County, which is west of Forth Worth, Texas a 24 month-old child Juliet Ramirez and her 16 month-old sibling Cavanaugh Ramirez were found dead in their parents’ vehicle due to extreme heat.

The mother claims that she left the young children in a back room of the house to play in.

A couple hours later she went to check on her children and realized they were gone from the home. Then she says that she walked the property and eventually ended up at her vehicle. She says that the doors were locked, and that she needed to smash open the window, because her children were holding her cell phone and car keys.

I watched a video from the news in Texas and they show a pick-up truck as the vehicle. Click on the link below to watch the video:

http://www.nbcdfw.com/templates/nbc_partner_player?cmsID=424713404&videoID=c4X2xC7aCvTn&origin=nbcdfw.com&sec=news&subsec=local&fullWidth=y&turl=http%3A%2F%2Fwpcomwidgets.com%2F&ourl=http%3A%2F%2Fwpcomwidgets.com&lp=5&fullWidth=y&random=9b0101ixfuud0namunmi&t=120

Of course, I am presently suspicious because it seems like it would be really hard for a 2 year-old to help or lift-up their 16 month-old sibling, but maybe I’m uneducated about how strong and able-bodied children are at those ages.

This story sounds eerily similar to Susan Smith’s in that the mother claims to have been the last to see her children before they died in horrific circumstances. There is a difference, since Smith claimed a black man hijacked her car and drown her children and this woman claims her young children did this all on their own, but it seems like these might both be sad situations where mothers become overwhelmed to the point that they are no longer capable of caring for their children and murder them rather than ask for help.

But, how often are women in society visible and respected and valued if they have given their children up for adoption or have been in any way perceived as not being capable of taking proper care of their children? It is definitely a scarlet letter to be viewed as a bad mom in society.

I’ve criticized parents, too. I don’t have children and I feel fairly pessimistic about the world. This is somewhat because I don’t want the responsibility, plus my own parents were way too young and ignorant to be parents but they made due. So I sometimes wonder, why the fuck do you (PARENTS AS A SINGULAR ENTITY) think you know enough to raise a contributing member of society? I’m just trying to make it through life, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be a good enough person to think I can positively contribute to this planet by adding another person to the mix. It’s hopeful to have children, but I have also judged parents as being arrogant to think they know enough. I guess what I’m assuming is that people feel they do know enough, when in reality many parents are just kind of going with the flow and aren’t claiming they are shining examples of humanity.

Anyways, I think women who are struggling to be mothers are punished 5 million times worse then men who are not present in their children’s lives. I’ve seen it so many times over.

Yes, there is Joni Mitchell who is respected and admitted to giving a daughter up for adoption pre-fame, but if this piece of info was known during Mitchell’s rise to fame, instead of when she was already established, it might have been very detrimental to her success.

I am not sure what has really happened in Texas, other than that 2 young, innocent children suffered more than I want to or am going to try to comprehend. I’ll stay in my bubble, but answers need to be found. This kind of tragedy needs to lead to education about how to best support children and mothers alike.
